Slow, slower, and slower still - H

I turned in my first photo assignment last week and we critiqued all the photos tonight. A favorable critique. Yea! It always makes me nervous to think that I'll be critiqued on my creativity, especially when it comes to art. I just don't think I'm very creative. I'm just exploring and learning and stretching myself a little bit. It's a lot of fun.

E and I spent a night in the city last weekend. I had a day off from work, and he took a day to spend with me. We saw a show and just hung out. We retreated to the city, which sounds funny, but getting away from work and the daily grind, the routine of our lives, and having nothing else to do but pass the time was really good for me...and I think E too. I had some solitude which I haven't had in a long time, and some peace. I used to have a lot of that in my life prior to beginning to work and moving, etc. It was nice to experience it again.

I look forward to the day when the pace of my life is slower, when I have a chance to enjoy the finer things in life. For me that means more time with my husband and time with my future kids, time to take pictures and pursue photography, more time to enjoy the outdoors and the passing of time, slower days and a slower pace of life. I wonder if that's possible considering the workaholic culture around here. Is it a general trend in our country too?

you know, i forgot to tell you last week, but i had this dream where you and eddie had bought a house, i was visiting you guys, and you were having an open exhibit of your photography in your new house. i just remember in the dream thinking that your photographs were really cool because they were really artistic and were symbolic as well. just thought i'd share that random dream with you ;).

Awesome! I hope that's a prophetic dream! It's exactly what I'd like to strive for in my photographs. How did you know? =P The walls of our apartment are currently bare b/c I want to hang photographs, but ones that we've taken and not purchased...although there are some photographs of seasoned photographers that I like. Some may come from this class I'm taking right now. Thanks, J! I'm encouraged. =D
