Let's see. What's going ..... - H
Aaaaaahn! hehehe. Bad joke. It has been a while, eh? Well, what has been going on?! For one, we finally got internet service. Hence, the entry. We're relatively settled at our new place. The few lingering boxes and loose odds and ends will eventually find some nook somewhere or perhaps find their way to the trash. One thing I do like about moving is purging all the old and useless things I've accumulated over time. It's quite refreshing.
We really love our new neighborhood. It's a very cool part of town we live in. We think so anyway. Here's what I like about it. We're close to quite a few places that we like - LNT and BBB, REI, House of Falafel (with great rice pudding). The mall is not very far away and neither is Century Cinemas with the huge screen and theater. Our Safeway is very large, very new, and very open - as in 24 hours a day and spacious. It seems like there are some cool places to eat around here, though we haven't had occasion to go yet. My commute to work is an easy 10 minute drive straight down Stvns Crk or a half hour bike ride. (I intend to do this, but we'll see.) I feel like I see all walks of life here, not just the 20 or 30-something Asian engineer variety...not that there's anything wrong with that. I just like variety. It's the spice of life after all.
My favorite part so far has been that Whole Foods is now part of my neighborhood. It's really close to where I work, but it was just far enough to be out of the way. So, I've heard that some call it "Whole Paycheck" and all, and it is quite pricey. My mom says though, "Better to spend a little money now on quality food than to spend it later in hospital bills." I've kept that in the back of my mind, but have loved going to places like Milk Pail where the final bill never fails to surprise me. It's always so little. I do still like it there. HOWEVER, I'd never had organic beef nor chicken. Neither had I ever tried an organic onion from Whole Paycheck. I am being serious. I cut into the organic onion, and after the oils wafted into my nostrils - AWESOME!!! Magnifique! - and who ever feels that way about onions?! E and I both agreed, that it was the best onion we'd ever smelled, absolutely wonderful! There's a qualitative difference in the meat too. The texture is different; it tastes different. There really is something to that all natural, no hormone, no pesticide in your food philosophy that really works...GO FIGURE! So, we're both pretty convinced that organic is the way to go. Actually, I'm convinced that organic from Whole Foods is the way to go. It's just really good quality, and I appreciate that a lot. We've thought about ousting Teflon from our cupboards too. If you haven't got your health...

yeah, you definitely don't need teflon. i thought all your cookware was all-clad anyway.
wow, i'm so excited for you that whole foods is so close. i have whole foods/paycheck envy. mine is a good 15-20 minutes away. i do find that to be quite a pain also, even if i fail to mention it in every single blog entry.
