So amazed - H

I think this is the first year where I can say I love my kids and the first year where I have a sense that my opinions and thoughts matter and are important to some of them. That's incredible and hard for me to believe. I'm just thinking about this now b/c the students are in a mad frenzy to fill the pages in their yearbooks. Do you remember that? (BFF! KIT! Have a KA (kick-a--) summer!) Some have even asked me to sign, and I've had a lot to say to each of those students who have asked me. I just feel a stronger connection and wonder where each of them will end up in the next few years and beyond. (Lord, protect them and guide them along the right path!) I wish I could get to know them in a different context, a more casual one where we could be more like friends. Some of them are so interesting, but I only get to see the surface, such a small bit of who they are. sniff, sniff. I'm feeling a little sad already. At the same time, ONLY 4 MORE DAYS!

Just got back from a trip to so-Cal. All is well. The best and unexpected part was seeing my bro-in-law become confirmed. (We didn't know about this before we went down.) His faith is really fresh and vibrant and refreshing. He's so thankful for his salvation and for the body of believers that is now his family. God is amazing!
