Who cares about cherries?! - H

I had high hopes of buying this nice little home perfectly placed near the most perfect park and walking distance to this, that, and the other place, but my hopes have been dashed by another with a bit more green to spare than we. Knowing myself, I don't think that we'll find another place later, that I'll like quite as much b/c this one was exactly what I was looking for...EXACTLY. Opportunities like that are rare. We just couldn't take advantage of it. My mom said not to get hung up over it, that there's something out there. We'll see. We'll see.

Why it was perfect...
- walking distance to a secluded park. Many parks in this area are situated on busy streets, and it's just not safe for little ones, nor does it do much for the atmosphere.
- walking distance to an elementary school. If we were to have kids.
- room to grow...if we have kids. (I did imagine us living here for many years until we outgrew it.)
- walking distance to a few of my fave spots to chill.
- walking distance to the library.
- quiet, secluded neighborhood.
- a great place to start a family. In short, this is what it really comes down to.

I know everyone talks about home buying as an investment. We have too, but it's a little exhausting to constantly be trying to track the market and figure out what's going on, wondering what the best time is, etc. when all I want is a nice little place to call home. If it appreciates, that's just cherries on top! I guess some cherries or more cherries is nicer than no cherries, but sometimes maybe it doesn't matter if you get cherries at all, n'est-ce pas? Though we're quite practical when it comes to our purchases and handling that sort of thing, sometimes I wonder if it's really worth all the trouble. (sigh)
