more car stuffs - E
yee-uh. yee-uh! i changed the car battery in the civic this morning using my brand new 96-pc. mechanics set from Sears (a $79 set had for $41 incl. tax -- another reason to celebrate). that was a nice feeling, getting my hands dirty and stuff -- it's pretty gross underneath the battery. but i've done it before so it's not a huge biggie.
but when i got to work, i finally reset the stoopid SRS light that has been on for a few weeks (at least). i think it went on cuz the car battery was low, but we'll see. if it goes on again i may have to take it to the stealer, ahem, dealer. it was a little stressful, cuz i was afraid of doing something wrong and blowing the airbags. i actually was using the wrong connector at first, which was a little freaky when i found out. but hey, if you have a civic and you need your airbag light reset, i can help!
now i can finally get my smog check and renew my civic's registration which is overdue by about a month. hehe. luckily, i already mailed in the fee, so i won't get charged a late fee. if any of you need a smog check in the bay area, go to the 76 station on saratoga that's near the REI. It's $50 there, which includes all the fees and stuff. Just for reference, it's $70 at the 76 station near our apartment.
anyway, all this reminds me that for some reason, i'm very slow to take care of things. like i would tell my wife, "i'm going to get a new battery and stuff tomorrow morning." and i've been saying that, or at least thinking it, for the last few weeks. one time, she was like, "that's what you said yesterday." oh yeah. ha ha. it takes me forever to get stuff done. like it took forever for us to get our couches and coffee table (my fault). i think it took like 7 months or something ridiculous like that. up until that point, we had no living room furniture and we were eating from a borrowed coffee table. i don't know why it takes me so long. i think i just assume that it'll get done. then i'm like, "hey, if i don't do this, who will?" and i just gotta go do it. that's partly why it took so long for me to propose, but that's another story.

hey can you change my oil the next time you're in town? ;)
J,
E says you can bring your car here. =D He could do it, but he'd need ramps and some tools. If you have those, then no probs...and then maybe either in a garage or when the weather's a little warmer. We're going to be in town the 22nd - 24th. We're going to VA to have a mini family reunion for the holidays. Will you be moving then? We'd love to help!
