Lost: quiet open space under a tree
Has anyone seen one of these? Not just any space under a tree, a cozy one, secluded, where someone could sit and read or collect her thoughts, where one could pass a few hours of the day just enjoying the smell of fresh cut grass and a gentle breeze.
The crowdedness of the area, the business of life, work, responsibility, drama, suburban sprawl and all the traffic, the lack of open, green space...it's all caving in and I need to get away! Calgon, take me away! Amid noise and clutter, sometimes you can find a quiet nook, a quiet space under a tree, a rock to sit on near the water, a cozy chair in a cafe. Still searching...

what about that forest preserve area where we went "hiking" and got somewhat lost?
palo alto's foothill park, up the road from arastradero park. it's exclusively for palo alto residents, but no one is on site to check that fact during the week. we went there with the dogs remember? the meadow area has tree areas like what you are looking for.
