The way it's supposed to be - H

Warning: This is a bit of a downer.

When I see a child suffering at the hands of irresponsible, deadbeat parents I feel really sad for the child. It's not the way it's supposed to be. He or she will never have the experience of a loving and nurturing home. When I see a woman unloved by her husband, who will never know the affection of one who was supposed to commit himself to love and protect her, sorrow fills my heart. It's not the way it's supposed to be. She will carry the scars of such a relationship. When I hear about people enslaved to various types of sins and destructive behaviors, misguided and in order to fill a void, my heart is heavy. It's not the way it's supposed to be. That's the way it is with life here on earth, isn't it? Nothing is the way it's supposed to be, the way God had originally intended. I imagine that God must feel the same way when He looks at us. He created us to be in perfect communion with Him, to feel the full extent of his joy and love, to live a truly thrilling life, and be completely satisfied in Him. This is the way it's supposed to be. Thank the Lord that he has the power to deliver us from sin and redeem us, but it's still so sad, isn't it, all that some of us endure b/c we choose everything else and not God? I can't wait to be in heaven where everything is the way it's supposed to be. I hope that all those children, unloved women, and misguided seekers find rest soon too. Lord, find them and bring them into your rest, your embrace, and fill them with joy.
