Found a great mechanic - H
Well, we took our car to the dealer to see if they could tell us what was wrong. I was hoping that they could diagnose the problem and fix it within a day or two b/c being without a car is a bit frustrating. Well, their solution was to replace this entire part (the throttle body) and charge us $900 for it! The part doesn't cost that much which means that half the cost was going toward labor. On top of that, when E asked what was wrong with the car, they said it's an internal malfunction... "but what does that mean?" E asked, and they couldn't tell him. That's ridiculous! Here's the most ridiculous part. After dropping all that cash, there was no guarantee that the car would be fixed. The mister was sure that they were incompetent and just after the cash, so after forking over the fee for their diagnosis, we said, "We're outta here!" and found another mechanic. He figured out the problem in less than 2 hours and saved us $700+. If anyone needs a good mechanic, his name is 3dd1e @hn. Reliable, honest, hardworking, and as knowledgeable as the internet and 1 month of automotive tech classes can make you. Private consultations are complimentary and shop hours are limited, so please call ahead to check for availability. 3dd1e @hn, your Aaaaahn-est mechanic.
BTW, it was the Falore Nissan dealership in Sunnyvale. Don't take your car there.
