Home sweet home - H
Yesterday was a picture perfect day. The sun was shining bright all day. The weather was perfect, a nice cool breeze with a teeny bit of bite, reminiscent of winter but hinting toward spring at the same time. I was thinking about my life as I was walking to recharge my laundry card, and thinking how it's amazing that I'm all grown up now, married, and living on my own in California. My sisters are 8 and 14 years older than I, and I was always the baby, the little one, and there was some part of me that always looked at adulthood as some distant destination and that I would be slow in getting there. The ride was actually much quicker than I would have thought. I'm still in awe when I think about it. I'm all grown up.
E worked on the car yesterday, and I got a head start on some desperately needed spring cleaning. 5 loads of laundry and 4 hours later, our bedroom is now spic and span. The rest of the place...? E found out what was wrong with the car, though. If we had a house and a garage, the scene would have been perfect. The mister getting his hands dirty and working on the car in the garage. The mrs. taking care of the house and baking some cookies. I don't know if I'm adequately composing the picture that's in my head, but there was just something that felt right and good about yesterday...something that each of us really enjoyed...something that spelled home. It was comforting. I love everything that's wrapped up in the word "home."
