A beautiful thing - H

So, J was sad after her swimming class b/c we didn't stay afterward to play. Her lips were purple, and she was shivering in the water, so I thought it best to leave right away. She was fine with it b/c we were in the shower, and then she played a bit in the shower, but then she was sad when we left the shower area and then cried and protested while I was drying her off and changing her.

Well, I stood her up on the floor while I changed, and a girl came by and stood facing J. She's in the same swimming class with J, but there are so many in this class, that I only knew her face but never met her nor her mom. Well, she inched closer and closer to J which I thought was a bit strange. J watched her get closer and closer, and cried here and there. Anyway, this little girl came b/c she heard J crying and wanted to give her a hug, and she was carefully making her way closer and closer to J so she could put her arms around her b/c she heard J crying. What a beautiful thing! It warms my heart when I see kids interacting with each other in such a manner and especially when it's to my baby girl. It's even more beautiful when the kids are so young (The girl was only 2.5 years old.) b/c you know that it's much purer and genuine.

I later talked to the mom and let her know what happened. She knowingly said, "Yeah, she's a good girl most of the time," and took no credit for the girl's actions. I think the little girl did it on her own b/c she was concerned about J crying. What a heart warming experience for me, and I think J too. I think she felt better b/c she stopped crying after the hug. That made my day!
