Go, Baby J! - H
3.5 days until E gets back. sigh.
So, we've been doing some early potty training with J. It involves first getting her used to sitting on the potty (which we've done) and then "practicing" which involves regularly sitting on the potty throughout the day at those times where she usually goes to the bathroom. I haven't gotten them all, but a few. I just put her on generally when she wakes up and after meals, and more often than not she will do some business. I do use fewer diapers, hardly clean poop-smeared butt cheeks, and I recommend it!
Well, today J amazed me. Toward the end of dinner J was standing at my chair while I was feeding her some watermelon. She says to me, "Poo poo." I take her to the bathroom and take her diaper off, and lo and behold a piece of poo falls on the floor. It looked like a partial piece so I sat her down, but nothing was coming out. I tell her to stand up so I could clean her up, and while she's standing she gives me the sign for "more." I'm a bit confused b/c she only uses that sign for more blanket swing or more snacks, but she must have meant she had more poo b/c another piece fell to the floor. Now, I know this is gross, but you have to understand how amazed I was that she was communicating to me about her poop! Maybe it's just b/c I'm a first-time mom, but I thought that was pretty darn amazing. Go, Baby J!
p.s. If you are sick of reading me gush about my baby, you should know by now that you should stop reading. =)
