"No" in middle C - H

J has learned the word "no." I don't know if she quite understands what it means yet. She just practices saying it in all kinds of tones, the way she hears us saying it. When we went for a walk after dinner today, she kept saying it in a sing-songy tone maybe in middle C (I don't really know what note. I'm just making that up.) I think she understands it better now. We'd ask her questions and she'd sing, "Nooo," and so we would say okay and not follow through on what we asked.

So, we took a walk from our apartment to our house. It's a good 5-6 blocks. I'd guess maybe a quarter to a half mile. She walked practically the entire way there and back. We thought she might be getting tired, and so we'd ask her, "J, uhbuhbah?" (which means, piggy back in Korean) She'd look us in the eyes, and sing, "Nooo." We'd ask, "J, do you want to sit in the stroller?" as we pointed to it, and she'd reply, "Nooo." Toward the end of the walk, she was clearly tired. She'd step down from the curb and then just sit or squat down to rest. The walk took a long time, but the good thing is that she was tired by the time we got home and ready for bed. It was quite a workout for her too. Her body was hot. It worked hard.

J is down to no feedings during the day and one before bed at night and occasionally in the middle of the night. Hooray! I think she's getting used to sleeping through the night too without waking for a nibble. Hooray! I wasn't sure how this weaning thing was going to work out b/c she feeds in order to calm down and fall asleep. It's working out though, and it's helped that she's down to one nap a day too. I don't have to worry about trying to get her to nap twice during the day without nursing, just once. She is growing up so fast. It's super fun, but super fast.
