Exploring - H
So, I took J to the Children's Discovery Museum today. I love it there, and we've been there enough now that J feels pretty comfortable there too. It's been a while since I last took her to the water exhibit, so we went there today at the end of our trip. A lot of times, J isn't very adventurous or exploratory so she just does what it appears she's supposed to do. That worried me a bit b/c I was wondering if her creativity was stunted for one reason or another, but today she showed me that I had no reason to worry.
She had a blast at the water exhibit today. She explored the exhibit in all kinds of ways, plugging the holes, sticking her hand in this whirlpool tank they have, experiencing the sensation of the flowing water on her hands and arms...and even on her head. She stuck her head in the streams of water squirting up from the table and even the water flowing like streams along the surface of the table. I was a little concerned b/c I was completely unprepared for this. She was soaking wet from head to toe (literally) and I didn't have a towel or a change of clothes for her. More than that though, I was relieved and so glad to see her taking interest in all sorts of things and actively exploring them on her own initiative. She's been so attached to me, which I think has kept her from pursuing some of her curiosity. Anyway, I'm just glad to see her exploring and enjoying the experience. It's fun for her, but it's fun for me too! It's so cool to see her mind at work.

I love that exhibit, but I hate that exhibit. Fun. But the wet aftermath sucks.
