Adventure - H
I just finished reading The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I've been so ravenously devouring the books that I think I've read 5 of them in about a week...maybe less. I was excited to read this one and find out what Aslan's country would be like. I found myself a bit jealous of Reepicheep though and disappointed that we didn't follow him to enjoy the sights that he saw. Still, it seems like a wonderful place, and it sparked a greater longing to know what heaven will be like and to see it someday soon.
One thing that struck me again and again is their desire for adventure in the book with what seemed like no thought of the possible dangers. Total abandon in the name of adventure. It just reminds me of the vigorous, adventurous spirit in me when I was younger. I would have tried almost anything; the tougher and rougher the challenge, the more exciting it was. I wanted to conquer everything. I think that spirit must be resting right now. She's a bit tired out from the daily grind that child care and life can be and has been of late, but I don't think she's died. At least I don't want her to have died. I shall meet adventure again sometime soon.
