Mommy needs a pohpoh! - H
E usually does the bedtime routine with J. After she's all clean and dressed for bed, he usually brings her into our room to brush her hair and to say goodnight to me. I always ask J for a hug and a pohpoh (kiss) while I have her tightly wrapped in my arms, and we say goodnight to each other. Today, after our hugs and kisses, J walks toward the door to go to her room and pick out some books with Daddy. Her latest interest is closing and opening doors, (She's finally tall enough to turn door knobs with ease.) so as she's closing the door, she suddenly stops and says, "Mommy needs a hug!" as if a light bulb went on in her head. So she comes and give me a hug.
So, I'm watching her leave and slowly close the door to our room, and she has her eyes on me the whole time too. Then halfway through, she has another epiphany. "Mommy needs a pohpoh!" So she comes a give me a kiss, and she does this last part again. So, tonight I got extra hugs and kisses from my J at her own initiative when I usually have to settle for a distracted hug and kiss at my request. I couldn't be happier!
