A Teacher's Schedule, the Weather, and a Body Snatcher - H
Ah...another day off. I've already put in 3 hours of work, however, and have a few more hours of work to do, that is school work, not house work, not personal projects, work...as in my salaried job. There are those out there that look at a teacher's work schedule and only see that amount of time we have off and how our work day is so short. Most of my non-teacher friends already know that this is such a falsehood about a teacher's work schedule, that we don't stop working at 3PM and that many spend their summers working on curriculum or attending conferences or other professional development activities. However, having spent the first hours of the morning working on my day off, I feel the need to share this again...maybe more to decompress than anything. I do have house work and personal projects to do, but I must work, work, work.
I hope it warms up sometime soon. Lows in the 20s and 30s are a bit too frigid for this former Chicagoan gone soft. Yes, I admit that I've become a cold-weather wimp, that I can't even take what would be mild winter weather in the Midwest.
In other news, I'm able to eat more normal meals. I've been subsisting on carbs for the last 2 months with a smattering of protein and a lot of junk mixed in. Now that I'm starting to eat normally again, I think my body is taking time to readjust, starting to make those enzymes that I haven't needed for the last 2 months. I think my body must have taken a rest from making all these enzymes my body wasn't using b/c it's giving me a bit of digestion trouble the last couple of days. Gosh, I want my body back. Prior to pregnancy, I think my body worked like a well-oiled machine. It was healthy and worked quite well. We're excited about baby, but s/he has invaded my body and taken over. Give me my body back!!
