Bucking baby - H
We saw baby for the first time today! Baby is about 5cm (roughly 2 in.) I had my first doctor's appointment and got an ultrasound. E came, and I felt like we met him/her for the first time. The best part was when s/he started bucking back and forth...or maybe doing some crunches to work those abs?? We imagined we probably interupted him/her from her peaceful slumber when the U/S machine started blasting those high frequency sounds waves at him/her. Whatever s/he was doing, we were mesmerized and just watched for a few seconds. At one point baby seemed to be stretching and cocked his/her head all the way back and stretched out his/her legs. We were just amazed.
Bucking baby was deemed very healthy, which of course was good news. No apparent abnormalities anywhere. I apparently could be doing much better after having lost about 10 pounds in the last 6 weeks. (I had no idea I'd lost so much weight.) I think I'm thinner than on my wedding day. Stop making me sick, baby. I need to eat.
Prayers for an end to sickness would be much appreciated. It is subsiding a bit. I wake up feeling great and find that I can eat some during the day, but I can't really eat after 6PM unless I want to get sick later. My body actually asks me to sleep about then (well, actually once I sit down after teaching 4 straight periods, I could sleep) but I can't do that. It's a good thing that the semester is coming to an end. One last stressful weekend before a nice, clean break. Hopefully the rest will help my digestive system to get back in order. The end of the semester will also mark my official entry into the second trimester. Eek! Time is passing rather quickly.

Hooray!
I still can't believe you're pregnant. I was probably like 100th person to find out. This sucks. But I still get to see your fetus on monday! Actually, I have to go to the tutoring thing in the library. Maybe you're coming.
