Ahhh, Saturday mornings - H

I love, love, love Saturday mornings, especially now that it's spring and because we moved to a great location. So, today I walked to the clinic to get my blood drawn for the glucose tolerance test. The phlebotomist that drew my blood was very skilled and I was in and out in no time! No multiple sticks and no collapsed artery. Yea! Then, I walked over to the farmer's market which is only getting better and better now that the weather is getting warmer. The summer fruits are starting to come out. Our favorite, of course, are the strawberries. I just bought our first few baskets of organic strawberries, which may or may not be good. It's a bit early for strawberries, but the sample I had was good. I was also joking around with the people selling the strawberries, and had them pick out the berries for me, but I don't think they know the fruit at all. They just sell it for the growers, so I'm not sure if they really picked good berries for me. Then, on my way home, I stop by the booth where this man sells tarts and eclaires, which I believe his wife bakes. They don't have a store, so I think this is just a small, growing, home-grown business. Anyway, the tarts are delicious! I especially like the crust his wife uses. I think it she must mix in some almond powder or other kind of nut powder. I love the texture and taste of the crust! I met a few people in the neighborhood as I walked around this morning. We try to say hi to everyone we meet or pass by, and hopefully we'll get to know them better the more we see them. I felt like I was part of the community. E and I really love where we're living, and we're hoping to be in the neighborhood for a while. Our neighborhood is cozy, and I really like how it feels. =D
