35 weeks - H

Nine work days left. 5 weeks of pregnancy left (although I'm hoping for 2 and everyone tells me that first timers are often late.) How's it going? Well...as well as can be expected I guess. I'm dealing with lack of sleep due to discomfort or interrupted sleep due to early morning trips to the bathroom. My hands and feet are swollen a bit, and I waddle when I walk if I don't consciously make an effort to walk normally. It's really fun when baby moves, and I can wait to actually see her tiny hands, her little fingers, her feet and knees that poke like knobs out of my belly. I can't wait to see her little butt, her delicate ears, her lips, her forehead, and babysoft skin. I wonder if she'll recognize Daddy's voice.

People naturally ask if I'm excited. Yes. I can't wait to meet this new person and see her grow and develop, but there's also the hard part, so my excitement is tempered. I'm not looking forward to sleep deprivation, the possible pain of nursing, the pain of labor and delivery, and all those other things that I don't even know about. I don't really think about it very much these days though. I can't do very much about those things anyway. Right now, I'm just looking forward to the year being over.
