Row your boat song - H
So, J and I started this thing where she puts her head on my shoulder and I sing "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" while swaying back and forth. I think it started yesterday when I was holding her and I asked her if she wanted to rest her head and also if she wanted to sing the row your boat song b/c that's a relatively new song for her. Anyway, she said yes and so we did it. I didn't think anything of it.
Later on, she hit her head on the door jam of the front door while playing with my keys and pretending to lock the door. She was whining, but she was fine, so I didn't feel like I needed to go over and comfort her or anything. However, she wanted some comfort so she comes up to me and points to my shoulder and demands, "Put J's head right there!" So, I picked her up so she could rest her head on my shoulder and then she said, "Sing row your boat song!" So, I did. I guess she finds it comforting. Who knew?
Then today, she was playing with her favorite doll but paused to ask me to hold her. Immediately, however, she saw her doll and wanted to get down to pick her up, and then asked me to pick her up. She wanted me to hold her while she was holding her doll, and both of them would rest their heads on my shoulders while I sang the row your boat song. Hilarious! (well, to me.)
This is how we sing it.
H: Row, row, row your
J: boat
H: Gently down the
J: stream
H: Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily
J: Life is but dream
J: ...more?
